We are actively recruiting highly motivated individuals at all levels:

1. Research specialists/lab manager. We are looking for experts in protein biochemistry, including protein expression and purification. The position is expected to collaborate on several projects, with the possibility of being the lead contributor. This role may partly assist in managing the lab. Title and salary depend on the candidate’s research experience and follow the standard set by the university. We especially encourage candidates interested in a long-term appointment to apply. Please apply by sending a cover letter, a CV, and the contacts for 2-3 reference letters.

2. Postdoctoral scholars. Expertise in any of the following is valuable, though not at all required to apply: protein biochemistry, membrane reconstitution, cell extracts, cell biology, single-molecule imaging, spectroscopy, and kinetic modeling. We are always curious to hear from candidates in other areas. At the moment, we are especially interested in experts in biochemistry or fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS). Please apply by sending a cover letter, a CV, and the contacts for 2-3 reference letters.

3. Graduate students. All backgrounds are welcome. Graduate students first apply to the university before joining a lab. Most students will be coming from the Jenkins Biophysics Program, Program in Molecular Biophysics, and Program in Cell, Molecular, Developmental Biology, and Biophysics. We also welcome students from other programs to contact us. Please send an email to directly schedule a meeting.

4. Undergraduates. Undergraduates who are dedicated to research are encouraged to join us! It is possible for an undergraduate to be a contributing author—or even a lead author—on a research article. We especially support students interested in pursuing higher education. Please apply by sending a one-paragraph cover letter (stating your career goal and why you would like to join the lab), a CV, and a transcript.
